How do I book a tattoo with you?

The best way to book a tattoo with me is through the Custom Art & Rates page on this website! There you can find a form you can fill out with your tattoo ideas and pick a preferred date/time. For custom tattoos, you will need to book a consultation so we can discuss ideas, size, placement, and rates. Consultations are free of charge.

In order to book and secure your tattoo appointment, a non-refundable $100 deposit is required. The deposit is taken off the total cost of your tattoo.

How do deposits work?

To book a tattoo appointment, a non-refundable $100 deposit is required. This secures your date and time, and covers the cost of the time to draw your tattoo.

Deposits are non-refundable should you decide to cancel your appointment.

How do you accept payment?

I accept cash, Visa, Mastercard, and American Express. I accept debit via Interac eTransfer.

Where are you located?

I currently tattoo in a private, appointment-only studio. My address is 5423 Portage Ave in Headingley, only a 5 minute drive from the Perimeter Highway on the west side of Winnipeg.

What is your hourly rate?

My hourly rate is $150, with a minimum $100 charge (this applies to tattoos under 30 minutes). All of my flash designs are priced by the piece.

I also price by the piece for large, multi-session projects such as sleeves.

What makes you a vegan tattoo artist?

All of the products used in my tattooing process are 100% free of animal-derived ingredients and have not been tested on animals. I use only high-quality products, so you will have a beautiful, cruelty-free tattoo!

A lot of people have asked what makes a tattoo not vegan. Tattoo inks, ointments, soap, stencil paper and solution all have the potential to contain animal-derived ingredients or have been tested on animals. I have taken great care to ensure all of my products are cruelty-free and vegan without sacrificing quality.

What is your cancel-lation policy?

All deposits are non-refundable. Please keep this in mind when booking your tattoo date.

If you need to reschedule your appointment, please do so with at least 48 hours notice. Rescheduling is based on my availability.

Do you do colour?

I currently only work in black and grey.

Are there any restrict-ions?

I will not tattoo anyone who is

  • under the age of 18 WITHOUT parent consent

  • pregnant/breastfeeding

  • under the influence of drugs/alcohol

Do you tattoo under 18?

Yes! (At my discretion! I will only take on these projects if I feel that the tattoo is suitable and the individual is prepared for this commitment.) I will tattoo clients under 18 provided that a parent/legal guardian consents and is present during the tattoo procedure.

Do you take walk-ins?

I currently operate an appointment-only studio and am unable to take walk-ins at this time. However, I am usually able to get most people booked in within a week or two - send me an email at jenna@tattooartistrybyjenna.com for my availability.

I occasionally schedule walk-in flash art days - to know when my next walk-in flash day is, follow me on Instagram where I make all my announcements!

What should I do to prepare for my tattoo?

The most important things you can do to prepare for your tattoo appointment is get a good night’s sleep, stay hydrated, and eat within a few hours of your appointment. Do NOT drink or take drugs the night before (or the day of!!). Shaving the area beforehand is appreciated (be very careful to not cut yourself) and be sure to shower/bathe. Dress comfortably and appropriately for the area of the body that is being tattooed. Avoid scheduling commitments immediately after the tattoo should the appointment run long.

If your session is longer than a few hours, bringing snacks is a good idea. I have a small selection of complimentary snacks at the shop if you forget. Bringing headphones to listen to music or another non-obtrusive form of entertainment is also a good idea.

How do I care for my new tattoo?

I provide all of my clients with written aftercare instructions. It is very important to follow the aftercare instructions to ensure your tattoo heals without complications into a beautiful piece of art.

If you have any questions regarding aftercare, please email me at jenna@tattooartistrybyjenna.com. If you have misplaced or lost your aftercare instructions, you can download them here or read through all the instructions on the Aftercare page of my website.

What if I need a touch-up?

Touch-ups are best left until after the 6 week mark, so that your tattoo has had a chance to fully heal. If you require a touch-up after 6 weeks, please contact me!

How much does it hurt?

Pain is a subjective experience, so unfortunately I cannot answer that for you! A general rule is that tattoos tend to be more painful on areas of the body where the bone is close to the surface of the skin (hands, feet, ribs, etc) or where we carry a bit more body fat (tummy, undersides of the arms, inner thighs, etc). However, a tattoo is only a painful process while you are under the needle for a few hours - and once the pain is over, your beautiful piece of art will last a lifetime. It is simply part of the experience.

Can I bring a friend?

Yes! You are welcome to bring a friend with you, however there is a limited amount of seating and space so please limit your entourage to two other people. No children under 12 please - make arrangements for childcare prior to your appointment.
